Con "NATIVE" NOS ha realizzato la prima mostra di prototipi del designer italo-brasiliano Luca Segnalini. Presentata nell'ambito del festival Bologna Design Week presso Voxel, scelto come contenitore unico nel suo genere architettonico bizzarro, e spazio di networking di professionisti della creatività, la mostra ha presentato in anteprima nove pezzi unici appositamente realizzati dal designer.
NOS agisce da incubatore a sostegno di prototipazioni e progettazioni di artisti e creativi mettendo a dispozione le proprie risorse interne e la sua rete di contatti. Con "NATIVE" NOS ha permesso la prototipazione e promozione della prima serie di corpi luminosi realizzata da Segnalini, uno studio che ha come principio fondante il ritorno al primitivo e il dialogo tra tradizione e modernità che NOS condivide.
Realizzate a mano dal designer stesso in collaborazione con un laboratorio artigianale di sartoria, le lampade di NATIVE sono realizzate con materiali poveri (feltro di lana e plastica) e forme semplici (sfere, calotte, cilindri e coni, isolati o composti) per sperimentare il connubio tra materiali e tecniche. Tutte le lampade hanno anima e struttura in polietilene, plastica duttile e resistente. Questo stesso materiale dà la forma finita a Hapy, Lilith, Qadesh grazie a un procedimento che lo vede prima “preforato” e successivamente cucito a mano sulla base di cartamodelli come si usa fare per il cuoio. Il filo rosso mette in risalto questa tecnica.
Merrill Beth, Ari Up, Bianca & Sierra, Tina e Valerie, sono, invece, “vestite” di feltro, tessuto corposo e resistente che tiene la forma. In questo caso gli elementi sono cuciti a macchina, a dritto e rovescio.
With "NATIVE" NOS realized the first exhibition of prototypes by the architect and designer Luca Segnalini. Presented as part of the Bologna Design Week Festival at Voxel, industrial building with bizarre architecture and co&networking space focus on creativity, the exhibition previewed a series of nine luminous bodies specially created by the Italian-Brazilian designer.
NOS acts as a business incubator to support artists and creatives to develop innovative projects by providing services, internal resources and networking.
With "NATIVE" NOS allowed the prototyping and promotion of the first series of "luminous bodies" realized by Segnalini inspired by the principle of a return to the primitive and a dialogue between tradition and modernity, shared also by NOS.
Handmade by the designer himself in collaboration with a tailor's workshop, NATIVE lamps are made with poor materials (wool and plastic felt) and simple shapes (spheres, caps, cylinders and cones, insulated or compound) to experiment combinations of materials and techniques. All lamps have a core and structure in polyethylene, a ductile and resistant plastic that is, instead, the material of the finished shape of "Hapy", "Lilith", "Qadesh", realized with a process that first "perforated" and subsequently hand-sewn it on the basis of paper patterns. The same method used for leather. The red thread highlights this technique. "Merrill Beth", "Ari Up", "Bianca & Sierra", "Tina and Valerie", are, instead, "dressed" in felt, a full-bodied and resistant fabric that keeps the shape. In this case the elements are machine stitched, knit and purl.
